Description

Follow the directions as for the West Face route. Once at the base of the blocky dihedral, climb up. The first 2/3 of the dihedral is somewhat lose but easy. Once you reach the final third, you have a couple of choices:

The class 3 option heads left (North) until it reaches the North arete and then romps up to the summit block.

The 5.2 option climbs up to a headwall under a roof and then traverses right (south) under the roof and up the south side to the very summit. This is fun, exposed and very well-protected.

Descent - downclimb East, then south, and finally West onto the trail.

Protection

Standard rack.

[Hide Comment] This AM, Wade M. soloed and cleaned a right-hand finish at the top of this climb that goes out right from the corner above the 5.2 Var. onto a sloping ledge and up a crack and flake. The holds are mostly very positive, and the rock seems pretty solid. Some gear would be possible on lead. Maybe 5.7? Jun 2, 2014
