This problem climbs the scenic northwest arete of the boulder, right at the junction of the foreboding north face and the sunny west face.

Begin on good Dakota crimpers and move up and right into a sharp gaston in the seam. Work the seam to the block at the lip (this block seems pretty well cemented in). Route-find carefully above here, as a fall could be nasty. All the relevant hand-holds have been brushed off, but you may want to scramble around and have a gander at the top before you cast off.

If you're wondering what despuntia is, just remember that "Despuntia dudes is coming over."

Two or more crash pads.

Low crux with some solid big moves to reach the block. Full value on this one. Was some loose gravel up top, but I had inspected it prior to sending and happy I did as it needed some cleaning up. Evidently rarely done as the topout lichen attests. Oct 26, 2017
