Description

This is the arete on the left side of the slab. This side is steeper than the rest of the slab. Start near the same rail of center problem, but move to the arete. You can pinch or lieback the arete, but it is easiest to find the hidden crimpers on it. There is a good mono pocket, too. Mantle to top out or traverse the lip right or left to get down.

Protection

Pad or strong ankles.

There's a good-sized rock right below the beginning, which makes the landing initially uneven, but fortunately higher up near the topout is further right where the landing is better. Very fun arete.

Edit: the landing was evened out last time I was up there. Oct 29, 2015
Definitely use a pad. Our good friend, J.G., took an ankle tweeker here. Feb 27, 2002
