This route does get a lot of sun hit and can be pretty wet at times.


This route probably takes about 5 screws. It is about 80' tall, so you make the call. Above it is a huge boulder with 2 rap bolts on it.

Probably one of the two most climbed routes in the SL Valley with the other being the chimney variation on its right side thanks to easy top access for the top rope crowd. BUT, with all the sunhit and massive water it can rejuvenate in a day. Pretty nice. A fun and classic 4+ pitch of thick ice with multiple variations. Dec 24, 2009
