Description

Climb the obvious highball arete left of Give Me my Forty Sucka. There is a sit start that adds a few moves but most people start on the obvious jugs.
Slap your way up the arete to the unnerving topout. Hidden crimps and a bit of moss at the top deteriorate the psyche when scratching your way over the lip of this one. A stack of pads is rarely wavered on this classic highball.

[Hide Comment] Nice problem. Really fun, scary, and underappreciated in my opinion Oct 21, 2013

[Hide Comment] Didn't feel like a V2. This was harder than Natural Disaster. Nov 12, 2016

[Hide Comment] I believe some rock broke near the top of the problem, felt significantly harder then other similarly rated climbs in the area. Oct 5, 2017

[Hide Comment] Nothing broke, its always been like that. The crux comes right at the top and the entire lower section is a real burner. Add to that the highball factor and the change in holds from square cut and obvious, to rounded and hidden and you have a recipe for the current S.Y.P. grade... ("shit your pants")! Oct 5, 2017

[Hide Comment] It’s all there up top, don’t hesitate to try it. Under rated route I overlooked a long time due to what I thought was a gnarly top out, which for Nut Tree it certainly isn’t. Oct 28, 2022
