FA: Steagall, Sandefur, Werner, Sobocan; Fall 1990
Nevada > Southern Nevada > Red Rock > 04-Second Pullo… > Black Corridor > Lower Level > Lower Level - Left
Access Issue: Red Rock RAIN AND WET ROCK: The sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when wet. Details

Description

Vagabonds is located on the left side of the lower section of the Black Corridor. Close to the boulders that separate the two tiers, on the left side, there is a trad route, BCR 5L. Its most prominent feature is a large crack up high. Vagabonds is the next route to the right from the crack. The 5.10a rating can be mitigated a bit by wandering a little and seeking an easier path. Lower off with one rope.

Protection

8 bolts to an anchor

[Hide Comment] Probably the best 10a in the bottom portion of Black Corridor; great fun route with varied moves. Watch the bottom as the feet are polished and slick but the rest of the route is great. Jul 28, 2006

[Hide Comment] I thought this route was excellent. A well protected route that is long and sustained. A must do if you visit the BC. Aug 14, 2006

[Hide Comment] On 3/15/11, the ASCA replaced 7 of 8 protection bolts and the anchor on this route. The second pro bolt did not need to be replaced. The protection bolts are 1/2" x 2.75" SS 5-piece, the anchor bolts are 1/2" x 4.75" SS 5-piece and are equipped with mussy hooks. Mar 15, 2011
[Hide Comment] Video of the lower section of Vagabonds. The pics at the end are all of other areas in Red Rock Canyon so they probably aren't very relavent to this comment thread.

[Hide Comment] Beautiful route, but I found it very difficult to clip several of the bolts; I found myself leaning way left or way right of a good 5.10a stance to clip. Mar 6, 2012

[Hide Comment] Very fun. With the right sequence, probably a little soft at 5.10a. Feb 24, 2014

[Hide Comment] Very fun route. It's one of the longer routes in the corridor but there are some good rest spots. Highly recommended. Feb 4, 2016

[Hide Comment] Did this, 757 2x4, Crude Street Blues, and Idiot Parade my first time at the Black Corridor, and this was my favorite of the four. It has great flow, varied moves, and nice sustain. Definitely recommend! Dec 4, 2016

[Hide Comment] Fun and long route! I was not expecting the fun factor on this one. Did not feel 10a to me, but i can see how someone can get pumped out towards the top. good holds and pockets. Do it if in the area. Apr 17, 2017

[Hide Comment] Found 4th(?) clip very sketchy. I went to the right of it and had to traverse left on slippery feet. (I'm 5 ft). Mar 5, 2018
