Wisconsin > Baraboo Range > Devil's Lake > W Bluff 04 - Gr… > Great Tower

Description

This is a nice route but the gear is a little funky(Hard to place WELL)

But it has...Great location, Beautiful Views, & Sweet Climbing. What more could you want?

Protection

Placing gear before the roof creates a LOT of drag...

~SO~

Be creative with your runners or go no gear till you get past the overhang

[Hide Comment] The gear on this was definitely difficult to place. Every time I thought I had a good piece coming it wound up being crap. Try not to fall on this one. Aug 25, 2009

[Hide Comment] Went back and climbed this route for the second time this weekend. I remember getting good gear before pulling the bulge the first time (like Craig says, hard to place well). In Burt's photo I think it is hidden by my body.

This time I totally missed the gear, and just pulled through. The second time is not always more competent than the first! Oct 3, 2011
