Coup d'Etat

5.11b, Trad, TR,  Avg: 3.3 from 62 votes
FA: Rich Bechler and Dave Groth
Wisconsin > Baraboo Range > Devil's Lake > W Bluff 05 - W… > 1: Prospect Poi… > 04: Great Chimney Area

Description

A climb with a blend of thin crack climbing, fun face moves, and a desperate dynamic to finish. It'll make you sweat! Thin crack offers solid gear placements through entire climb. Route starts just to the left of a flaky crack (Handle with Care, 5.5), and can be accessed through Great Chimney (actually more of a gully and the bottom can be tricky).

Protection

small cams and a couple of small stoppers work great

[Hide Comment] For a lead, the pro is small yet pretty solid (Lowe Balls, .1 and .2 Camalots, and #0 Metolius TCUs) ...probably the best protected 5.11 at the Lake. May 24, 2002
