The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

The route Energy Crisis and the rock for 50' on either side of its are closed to climbing to protect Native American rock art in the vicinity.

Description

Left of ZZZZZ (5.9 R) is this left-trending line on somewhat grainy rock. While the rock on this climb isn't on par with some of the others to the right, the moves are fun and well-protected.

The route ends on a large ledge, the same ledge ZZZZZ finishes on, and an easy walk-off is found by walking northward down the toe of Little Hunk.

Fun route with interesting moves! The rock is very good along the traverse, and then steadily gets worse as you climb higher. Definitely worth doing if in the area. A green camalot protects the opening move, and TCUs are useful for the anchor. Apr 19, 2008
