Fun easy traverse. Can do a sit start but all in all its just fun movement on stone, its located on the front of trash can rock (facing the road). Start left and the further right you go the harder it gets.

Maybe a spotter

Nice workout! I 'pumped up' earlier, so it was difficult to hold onto while attempting to traverse. Good fun and extremely convenient to access (it's nearly in the parking lot!). Also a tourist hangout, so don't be shy ;) Mar 28, 2004
Did "the gipper traverse" a couple weeks ago, It's ok, Not the best thing that I have done. but then again I was in a bad mood..... Its a good workout, and practice.. The "ripper" has a great first hold, It is a little hard to reach if you arent 5'9 or taller...

I cant wait to hit up some the cracks though..... Aug 23, 2004

Great spot to hit on the way out of J Tree. Go to the high jug and back for a "real" workout. Mar 5, 2012

Good for the warm up circuit. Solo all of the easy moderate stuff, pump a few laps on this thing and then your ready for the day. Nov 20, 2018
