No need to cross the log anymore - This is the very obvious bridge you can see from the trail split- head over the bridge and in a minute or two take a left on a trail marked by a cairn.
Approach beta is out of date - don't follow the old instructions.

The old log bridge over the creek. It is to the Northwest of the bridge you'll see to the right about 100 yards in from the road and still within 300 yards (probably less) from the pullout.
