Late December Conditions

February 10th 2018, Nightfall is in prime condition!

2 pitches. The middle section is steep, but thick. The very top is thin amd hollow. Was sketchy to anchor in. Also, while repelling we dislodged lots of large rock that almost ended poorly for the group ascending the bowl below us. Thankful everyone was okay.

The view from the start of the 2nd pitch. I roughly followed the snow line on the left. January 2008.

3/7/20 Final moves to setup TR from pine tree. Ice here was hard and clear.

January 9th, 2017. The vertical ice is in, the horizontal ice is not. There is currently a 3 foot gap of open water to clear as an approach pitch!

Some years, this baby doesn't form. 1/07.

Nightfall looks really good this year. January 2008.
