Maybe it's just the angle of the photo, but that sure looks harder than WI2. Yeah, the sleeping bag is a hoot, but I've known some climbers that if you climbed with you were guaranteed to bivy. Jan 1, 2013

Benjamin, I think I submitted the description back a long time ago when it was climbingboulder.com. Rather than waste a "lot of cyberspace" with a bunch of aqueduct leaks, I entered one "route" with a WI2 and this info in the description as (L->R):

"1. Short WI2-3 flow; 2. M5 TR line with crux finish; 3. WI4 fat ice curtain; 4. WI5- R edge of curtain with traverse to small tongue of ice; 5. WI4- thin ice; 6. WI4 ice ribbon; 7. WI4+ delicate ribbon angling R; 8. WI4- R most ribbon in picture. Beyond the photo: 9. WI3 shorter fat ice; 10. WI3 line of least resistance; 11. WI3+ verglas start to fun chandelier; 12. WI3+ R side of flow. Further upstream 13. WI2."

I forget which one Matt climbed in this photo. Jan 2, 2013
That looks just like the nice, crumbly ice we used to enjoy here back in the '80s at our local ice area at Starved Rock...long ago taken away and closed to access. Those were fun days. Jul 25, 2017
