Picture Peak, NE Buttress topo

Looking down the long and sustained P6 of Picture Peak's NE Face IV 5.10. Excluding the Incredible Hulk, this might be the best pitch I've climbed in these mountains.

NB topping out P7 with Hungry Packer Lake below, NE Face of Picture Peak.

The Reach Around 10+ alternate to the pitch 5 squeeze. Had a big pack on so took this way instead. Classic crack to exciting face. FA?

we found a rap sling/biners right around that location. 60' rap, then down the loose/bowling alley 3rd class slope/gully to the (skier's) right (SW)

NB coming out of the Flakes Chimney, P5, NE Face of Picture Peak IV 5.10

RIP John. We saw this memorial plaque on the descent and I looked up the name afterwards out of curiosity. Here's the most info I can find (in the comments because of the character limit).

the gazelle cranking thin crux moves, protected by a #2 Lowe ball and #5 hb brass offset - it's a technically sustained and heady pitch

40 foot 4th class downclimb from the final belay to gain the summit ridgeline

You can either go left up that little bulge

Detail view of descent from Picture Peak that my partner and I took in July 2019. Possible alternate rap on the SW side of the first tower indicated, but we did not confirm this rap. Other routes likely possible!

Here's a gps track of the descent (off the true summit) if you're unsure of which gulley to take, it should be pretty obvious and no harder than 3rd class.
