Rappelling the first few pitches, this route is steeper than it looks from afar!

You can follow the ridge line up to the notch and take the Cathedral Peak climber's trail down the east side as long as you don't have any reason to return to the JMT / north side. Makes for a nice loop and saves you some rough off-trail descent!
