To reach the top of the falls in heavy snow conditions (2-3' deep) ascend the steep hillside to reach top above rocks, traverse, then drop down to riverbed to set up toprope anchor.

Looking down at the base of the falls. The ice extends downstream quite a ways and drops over a number of small steps of around 10 feet each. Climbers can descend down and climb back up over a good distance and get lots of practice.
View showing more of the right side. Not in good condition on this date. Sometimes covered in good ice. Perhaps more often covered with snow.
Rancheria Falls trailhead and outhouse. In the summer, you can drive this far and hike less than a mile to the falls. In the winter you have to ski a mile and a quarter up a road to this point, then ski on the trail another 8/10 of a mile. You could also snowshoe. The road is also a snowmobile route.
