State of the route in early October 2021
High camp at the end of day 3 on the long scenic approach to Lyell via Rush Creek (Spooky Canyon / Thousand Island Lake and Island Pass). Good cold conditions that night so the snow up above stayed firm until about 10am (while descending) the next morning

A somewhat different view of the start to the NW ridge of Lyell. The Lyell Fork and Hutchings Basin side of the mountain (in the shadows to the right) are quite dramatic when compared to the traditional view from the Lyell Glacier
The 'slabs' section of the route from the upper col. There is a lower col a bit of a ways down the ridge. This is such fun to climb, only wish it was a whole lot longer.
