Punchbowl Wall Climbing Route

Mark Andrew on the crux 4th pitch during a 1993 attempt. This is the highest point on the wall to date, and we install a rappel route from here. Note a 26 ft. boat anchored at the base of the climb, we rafted to shore.

The route becomes a waterfall and we are stuck on the ledge for 4 days. It would not be good to be on the route when it rains.

This is what the notch looks like to approach the climb. For an early attempt, we pulled and tied up 3 kayaks in here. (Recommend to anchor them above high water level in case of rain, this becomes quite the waterfall)

This is what the approach looks like in early springtime. The route has a lot of avalanches which cleans the wall and the approach. It grows back fast in the summer.

This shows the shoreline notch with the climb above. The approach to the climb is either in the woods to the climbers left, or up the gulley and work your right on ledge systems as needed.
