Is this the P2 chimney? It looks different from the one in the other photo. We rapped P1 to the ground and I saw this and went up it. It was dirty and a lot of fun but I have no idea if it is technically the route?

That is not the route P2 chimney. I'm not even sure where you are rapping from! The buttress to your right looks like "A Hard Day's Night (5.9)", with the 5.7 Crystal Caper to your immedate left. Skyline starts on the north side of the main buttress, and P1 descends the South face way to your left in this image. Based on where you are rapping from indicates you did not do P1 of Skyline...Bummer you did not find the route! Jun 28, 2018

Matt thanks for this info! That chimney was dirty, a bit sketchy, and pretty difficult. We did the first pitch on the north side for sure, we rapped off the other side to the base of this and then climbed it, after which a storm rolled in and we bailed after it cleared (this photo). We had a pretty good line to finish the buttress if it did not rain on us, but this chimney just didn't feel right... thanks for the confirmation! Jul 5, 2018

No problem! I just noticed your original picture comment mentioned you rapped to the ground. To get into the chimney you only rap about 15-20ft. Also, if you ever make it back this way, don't bother with Skyline. There are much better moderates in the Gallatin! Get on Sparerib, Pineapple Thunderpussy, of the Standard Route on Gallatin Tower.
