The blue line is the The Owl, and the red line is a party figuring out where the Owl is. On 3 separate occasions I've seen people trying to figure out which way the line goes, mostly going over to Umph Slot then traversing back to The Owl. How hard it is to use a guidebook?

Actually, the red line is the original route; the first pitch deposited you at the bottom of the Umph Slot. See, for instance, Erickson's Rocky Heights. The blue line is basically what Jim called a direct start variation. (That's also not .10c Owl Direct route as listed here on MP.) Jun 18, 2017
