Although you can not tell from the angle of this photo, there is a huge resort right next to this climb. I climbed this in the dark (incognito) and was enjoying live electric guitar music blasting from the resort. That being said, a drone only adds to the cars, construction, and live music coming from the resort. I do find drones to be distracting and annoying, but this is not exactly a wilderness type setting. May 30, 2017
Derek Field, it really doesn't matter what the laws or regulations are. We are talking about interacting with other forms of life; humans, other animals, and the living landscape. That takes precedent over all else, and it requires respect and consideration.

Bitter Trad is 100% correct citing Leave No Trace ethics, because the use of a drone is not adhering to the last two principle: respect wildlife, and be considerate of other visitors. May 5, 2017

As per guidelines listed above by CDC, nothing wrong with flying a drone on this particular occasion. Also, I personally could not hear the drone on this occasion over the roar of lawnmowers and leafblowers at the resort immediately below. Better to know the background behind a photo before calling it thoughtless. Go ahead and scold people if that's your thing, but try to do it only when they're in the wrong. May 4, 2017
