Scrambling the dinner plates pitch
not far from start /end of hike about 1 mile from campground where we parked. burned forest with new growth- beautiful and eerie - wont look like this for too long

https://caltopo.com/m/M4E3: Our approach skips the cairn turnoff described on this page and continues south along the PCT until heading up from the gentle toe of the West Ridge at a small clearing. A very comforable approach that avoided any scree.
Start in a small alcove below the notch. Either go directly up cracks, 5.7/8. Or travsre right around on easy “rope drag” rock 5.4.
