John:
Not a "DEAD HORSE" at all! You are so right! We were the first group on Lakeview when an inexperienced party (Never been on Cannon or the route) began "PUSHING" us most of the day, this with my 15 yr old son, and my partner. We let them pass at Pitch 4 and then the bottleneck ensued, two parties from Wiessner's and one very experienced party on Con. Prize met at pitch 5, below the remnant's of the old man. The inexperienced party, despite all our recommendations lead up the loose talus and never even yelled "ROCK" when the nightmare came raining down. Lucky for most of the parties, they were sheltered under roofs and avoided the worst of it. the leader of the Con. Prize team, basically soloed up to "Instruct" the offending team. Ethic's and common sense were needed that day, it's not the cliff's fault, the "ONION" is what it is! Oct 2, 2016

Consider a route far to the left on Wiessner's Buttress (Two double Ring Anchors) seen in the far of the pic, the route is cleaner than a straight up approach from the view of the shot! Much safer for parties below (Especially on Consolation Prize (Directly Below). Climber's the day of this pic dislodged multiple "KILLER STONES" on a party on Con Prize. This is the danger,be careful in this area ! Be mindful of parties below you ! Oct 2, 2016
