Best to do this climb once the road has closed since you belay from the road.
Bit of a surreal route, you get wild mountain-style scenery like this and then look down from the summit to see people getting out of SUVs with slurpees...

Although it was the only climb I got to do in the Needles, it was definitely worth the visit
Hitching post
The Hitching Post (with The Fan behind it) taken from the Needles Eye parking lot. The route follows the blue line from the right corner of the parking lot up and behind the Hitching Post then it climbs the last twelve feet up the steep left side of the summit on big (but very exposed) holds.

Hitching Post - looking South with tunnel entrance to the left. The route shown with dotted line is actually on the back side. Two bolts/chains at the top. You can either rap the back (lower angle) or rap the front (airy and thrilling for onlookers).
Hitching Post with climber on the rappel. You can show boat rap down the opposite face into the parking lot, or rap the same side as you ascended, which is more descrete.
