Looking down the first pitch. The crack in the foreground eventually delineates the arch.<br> <br> From this belay stance you can squeeze down through the crack and reach the underside of the arch and hiking territory. How do I know that? Because I did it in the opposite direction before the climb, we hiked up under the arch, and I squeezed through the crack and out onto the face, the exact spot I ended up belaying.
