That's interesting about the baboons.

I can grip wood holds better with moist hands. Tap water or saliva, not urine for me. (And a friend tells me that he can hold plastic slopers for longer if he moistens his hands.) But I still need additional aids for the overhanging 12s. Sep 21, 2015

Yes, 5.12's… mechanical pulley/hoist might work for me these days.

I spent a year in South Africa as an exchange student years ago. Learned about the baboon thing then. I've never actually tried it. We used to see polished holds on the quartzite faces from their climbing (when you think about the ages it's boggling - maybe many millions of years of baboon paths).
