Looks like it would be a good community service project to replace the hardware on that route.... Mar 13, 2015

I was one of the FA party and totally support replacing our old bolts (not adding new ones) and home made hangars. That pitch deserves to be climbed more. I talked to Jeff Snyder about it recently so he might be up to do it. I'm too out of shape and scared to do the route now myself. I think Mike Lawson made the hangars from and old mail box or something. We were poor starving college students at the time.

I remember Mike drilling the second bolt standing on one foot, tap tap tap, then switch feet on the same hold, tap tap tap, then switch again. His foot kept sliding. Mike used to shake like crazy when he climbed too, maybe because all he ate before heading to Sedona were 2 16 oz. cups of Circle K coffee. The whole time I thought he was going to fall and kill me. I seem to remember that some of the bolts were just baby angles pounded into 3/8" holes. They might have fallen out by now. I think there were 7 bolts total? Jul 17, 2016

It has been over a year now so I do not recall how many bolts were on P3 but do believe there were less than 7. It would be a big community service for someone to replace the bolts. If I get on it again, I would be happy to do it but that could be a while. Great route. Jul 24, 2016
