Ice climbing in the Black Chasm. Winter 2019. The ice was in perfect condition,and the setting was other worldly, a fairy land of kaleidoscoped ice sprinkled with white sugary fairy dust. Hum, and someone asked me to go bowling that day!

Garnet Canyon to the summit of the Grand via Pownall-Gilkey Route. Also climbed the Red Sentinel on that trip.

I took this photo of Tom high up at around 13,000 feet on the Pownall-Gilkey Route 5.7 on the Grand Teton. Sept. 1997 Idaho is in the backround.

Starting out on The Dangler 5.9, I felt it easier to just muscle it out to the end in a free hang rather than using a left heal hook to lessen the load.Sharon Zivi took this picture.

Tom and I built this icewall in 1997 in his backyard in Howell NJ. This photo was taken at night with a barnfire and a floodlight in the back round by a reporter from the Asbury Park Press. The quality is not great because it was scanned in from a copy in their newspaper.
