There's a fairly good trail system in the Dolomites, and a good but steep trail ascends from the Comici Hut to the Langkofelscharte. This view is looking down the valley towards Wolkenstein (Selva).

Start to the route on the "Thumb" lies only a couple hundred yards away from the Langkofelscharte. The "Daumenkante" is a spectacularly steep and exposed route--at a very moderate grade.
