Colvin on the old Colden Slab. This ascent, though less steep than the new slab is far less enjoyable to climb because it is dirtier and requires a much harder exit (especially for K9s).
My recommendation, do both slabs, but choose the new slab if conditions are wet or rain threatens. Choose the old slab for the more challenging exit and a little more slick slab climbing.
The rear leg loops function just like human loops, they came on the harness and are stowable. It is a full strength rated (22kn)harness. Very well made and worth the $125 retail. I paid about $80 for it on sale, and have no regrets.

I wouldn't use this for a hiking harness, but for anything which you may have to belay or rappel the dog, it is superior to an assist harness. Besides being a little bulky and having additional wear/friction points on the dog, I figure it's useful life gets significantly reduced if it's worn everyday in the sun and being abraded.
