Early season (Dec 15th, 2013) alpine touring in Spearfish Canyon today. We saw rock climber's cars at both Ice Box Canyon and the Sunshine parking areas today. Still despite temps warm enough to climb in we found a number of steep powder stashes nearby. Ah yes, the promotion of dispersed recreation. Even found a couple of nice undeveloped cliffs (imagine that).

The Bone Crack 5.8 on the far left side of Sunshine way past the Thunderhead. Overhanging right facing open book with finger to hand sized gear. As you can see in the photo it stays dry in the rain. Done earlier this decade ground up to two bolt anchor.
