Jhan.. however i appreciate your concern... the safety of my dog is off my utmost importance and I also took into consideration all the factors. She is not on a leash, she is tied into the climbing rope with me. This was late in the day and there were no lines for the route and if anything, she climbs faster than me and sometimes its hard for me to keep up with her. If it was busy and I thought that this would have inconvenienced anyone, i would not have done it. Shyla is an incredibly well behaved dog, is non agressive and is incredibly picky about where she poops. She wont poop on a trail nevermind a rock.

Is this something i reccomend all dog owners do? Absolutly not, it takes the right dog, the right equipment and the right circumstances.

I agree that SOME dogs are better left at home due to behavioral issues, but You can't generalize and say that all dogs are bad to have at the crag, and you certainly cant tell me what i can and cannot do with my dog when there is no harm being done to anyone. Nov 18, 2014

for what it is worth i am fairly anti-dogs at the crags (ive had food stolen, ropes stomped on, nearly been attacked multiple times) but i know jay and i think that he and his dog are both very respectful at the cliffs... as for other folks being influenced, most of them cant get their dogs out of my damn pack let alone in to a harness and up a climb....
