This is the crag I described in a comment. In 1981, four of us did two different lines up the central buttress. There is a dirt road that goes almost to the ledge. The orange middle seems impossible to do without all drilling. Have you been there? Nov 27, 2012

Yes, I went and had a look a few weeks ago. I went up Timber Camp Tr, off of Greeley Ponds Tr. Is that the road you are referring to? I followed that past the clearing (high camp) and kept on as it turned into a narrower trail until it seemed like I was heading away from the crag and up towards the ridge line, so I back tracked a little and bushwhacked north maybe half an hour (pretty thick) to come in just left of the orange wall. On the way out I scrambled down to the toe of the scree field and then shwacked back to the trail. Directly below the scree was rough, as to be expected, but then it got easier.

I thought there was some potential on the orange wall, but you are right, it would require all bolting, and a ton of trundling of loose rock to put up good routes. I was hoping for more consistant steepness. Due to the fact that it is a little far for the offerings and it will require a ton of work (it looks very involved getting to the top to rap in), I probably won't be doing anything there soon. The easier stuff to the right actually looked kind of cool, with interesting rock, but again, it is a bit of a thrash to get to. I had to crawl around thick vegetation at the base to get around. My friends were not pleased when we arrived at the scree field fully gear loaded. I took them directly up by bushwhack from Greeley Ponds trail. They hated that and I already knew about the road trail. That is the trail I am referring too. My friends went ape shit about me not bringing them up the road. We made believe we climbed the ledge at the central buttress far away from the steepest. The top of the gorilla and where we rappelled was a hassle to find a pine tree big enough to put body weight onto. Osceola's gnarly pine is bad and ass and they are all small ones above the ledges.
Its got a nice view. Bushwhacking directly up is worse than the road trail. So much rock and so little to do with it traditionally.
