Beware of Snakes!! Zoom in on the larger crack to the left of the rope. I thought my hand was feeling vegetation...turns out I was wrong. This was at about 400 ft.

Can't believe all the paranoia about being bitten. SUCK IT UP! Snakes are incredible climbers and will go where the swallows and rats are nesting. You stop molesting it and it won't bother you. Climbers come across Rat Snakes in the Gunks, Rosy Boas in Joshua Tree, and Gopher Snakes at Echo Cliffs on routes all the time. If you believe that snake got there by falling from above you must have been hit in the head and sustained a traumatic brain injury.
