Nice, a bit further left than we looked. I never went to the top. Once we tried coming in from Zealand area, insane.

Though flakes will be cool Sep 13, 2011

John, I started working on the flakes this weekend and found a really sweet line up the slabs directly to them. The picture is oddly distorted, because the line starts pretty far to the left of the curved pine tree and heads right up. The whole line will be 3 pitches: 90 feet of really interesting slab, prob 5.11. 80-90 feet up the slightly over hanging flake left branch (maybe hard 12, very thin at the top), to a perfect belay ledge by the high tree. The third pitch, which you can't see a lot of at this angle, being blocked by the ledge, looks easier, but on very cool features. That black squiggley line running in back of the tree is actually a giant undercling jam flake. Did you guys ever rap off the top there? For a 250 ft cliff, it is pretty mind blowing. Sep 13, 2011

Oh, bummer. I wanted to check that out soon and was hoping for a way through. I have been eyeing the flakes above since last year. The slab looked good too, but I see what you mean. It did look pretty steep and blank in one section from the ground. Maybe swinging around on rappel I can find a line through there. The crag was bone dry last weekend and with the cool, windy weather the bugs were actually manageable. I got absolutely eaten alive though on the way out when I stopped at the river crossing to retrieve my stashed sandals. Treed a bear too while I was getting them Jun 7, 2011
