Pitch 1.

Route Overlay Bird Hunter Buttress.

The last pitch we did. At the two bolt anchor up there we started rapping back down the route using a 70m plus a tagline.

The views of the back canyons are pretty nice!

Pitch 4.2: lots of air, on a well-protected and moderate route.<br>

Pitch 3 (Handren).

Sunrise at the base of Rainbow Wall

The last pitch we did. At the two bolt anchor up there we started rapping back down the route using a 70m plus a tagline.

Pitch 8 (Handren).

Jonny just about to enter back into the chimney. Pitch 6 from Doug Hemken's beta. We both felt this chimney pitch was the crux pitch of the route. <br>

Pitch 10 (Handren).

The beautiful slanted tree, and a bit of pocketed, varnished sandstone at the base of Birdhunter Butress. <br>

On summit ridge. The true summit of Rainbow Mountain is behind and would require quite a bit more effort to get to.

The first 3 pitches of "Bird Hunter Buttress," showing both the main belays and intermediate stations.

A nice place to gear up for Birdhunter Buttress, or to take a nap is at the big, slanted tree. Due to the long approach, and adventure-like climb, you'll most likely have the route/area all to yourselves. : )

4th class scramble to summit ridge from top of Pitch 12.

A tree anchor before the high chimney pitch which felt like the crux.

The views from Birdhunter Buttress/Rainbow Wall are incredible, and gives you a good sense of the vast, rugged terrian of Red Rock. <br>
