This is one of the most spectacular positions in all of New England. The traverse is very easy, but the wall beneath you is undercut and you can hear the waterfall of Pinnacle Gully way below your feet. You can clearly see the horizontal crack in the earlier image that's labeled "Location/detail..." It's right there at the very top cruising to the right on the highest face. Yeah, that bushwacking is no joke.

I ended up on the Central Buttress, the one time I meant to do Pinnacle. And you want to talk about gnarly shrubbery..... Man, it's too bad, because the Central would be a really nice moderate adventure otherwise. Sep 24, 2013

It's funny how from a distance the ravine floor looks smooth and grassy, then when you get there it's actually gnarly bushwhacking on top of a boulder field. Apr 8, 2010
