Rainsford Rouner finally on real ice during the FWA of Remission in Jan 1976. There was no ice until this view.
Rainsford Rouner cleaning the 3rd pitch of Remission on the FWA in Jan 1976. The pillar was so narrow and free standing that even swinging an axe made the whole thing vibrate. So rather than back off, I aided the pitch and belayed where it went into the chimney and became alot more solid. Rains took over after that and lead the final pitch in admirable style.
