The river swells up as the monsoon begins its cycle . . . don't get stranded - well, go ahead, get stranded. Couldn't think of a better place to be stuck.

Amazing mountains from a bus on a trip from Pondicherry to Alleppey, India. The clouds were randomly obscuring what must have been 1500-2500 foot bands of rock protecting the organic summit caps.

The river that splits the 2 sides of Hampi . . . the far side is way laid back and relaxed. A true dream world. Get there before it's ruined.

One note of caution . . . there are King Cobras about. They act like rattlesnakes in that they typically are defensive, avoid confrontation . . . but just a bit more curious. I saw two wild cobras around Hampi, one of which was about 10 feet long and slithered right up to my feet from a garbage pile adjacent to jungle in Hospet. It flared up right in front of me, then turned and slithered back into the jungle. Don't get bit.

A superb sit-start to steep rising travers boulder problem over Hampi, India. This problem alone was worth the trip.
