Self-portrait on Stetinden Summit. I was the only fool willing to make an alpine start in the land of the midnight sun, so I spent about 40 minutes alone, wandering back and forth with camera, wind, and rock for companions.<br>
Certain that my pace had been terribly slow, I hoped a guided group would arrive so I could bum a rappel. That didn't happen before the cold and rising wind chased me off the summit. I would have to reverse the crux moves to descend, as I didn't bring enough rope for the rappel (which is 25 meters).
