I think Brian is right on with this one. Although this is pretty vertical for a 7, the jams are solid in this section. That being said, every time I get on this pitch I always ask myself why this doesn't feel any easier than the first time I did it. Most people in my party felt that exiting onto the slab with the wide layback was the crux. It gets thinner, but the angle is pretty mellow, so it's probably just mental. Aug 17, 2009

The crystals in that section actually seemed really solid to me. It's when you hit the big hands/fists section up above (my favorite part of the route), that the crystals disappear. Mind you, it gets slabbier, so smearing is an option, and there's one thank-god crystal to help out. Apr 11, 2008
