Picket Fence area from the approach trail
The Conn sense of humor. Story is Herb climbed out and straddled this fallen spire and pounded in a bolt to hold a summit register. Wrote "FA, the day before the big blow, Herb and Jan Conn" or something like that. The register is long gone but you can see the bolt in this shot. For a while we were convinced this spire toppled in the last 50 years, till we read about it in the guide. Hilarious.
