I don't know how far the main tunnel goes down (straight), but I've been quite far down the left branch of the tunnel. At one point, you have to crawl on your belly for 50 feet or more, but it opens up into a large chamber....before getting narrow and low once again. On a couple trips to the mine, we noticed a lot of water down this side tunnel -- probably wouldn't venture there again. Not much to see. Oct 4, 2010

There is a gap large enough for me to squeeze through to the right of the bars. However, the fact that something (cougar, no doubt) dragged the sheep inside dissuaded me from doing any exploring.

I was creeped out enough that I jumped straight up like a scared cat a couple of times when small rocks slipped down or fell on the talus behind me as I was walking back. Mar 23, 2007
