Fundraiser for Black Canyon SAR Team!! May 22nd @ 6pm in Grand Junction

Hey Monkeys,

Really excited to post this!! We're throwing a rad little fundraiser for the Black Canyon SAR team!!! A lot of you know that they REALLY saved us last September  , so I'm psyched to return the favor. It will be May 22nd at 6pm at Summit Canyon, which is now called GearHead Outfitters. 

If you don't know: the SAR team is BADASS and they routinely get personal gear destroyed/worked during rescues, or donate gear for emergency anchors they never see again. They also pay for trainings themselves. So it would be cool to help them out since they're responding to crazy shit all season long. 

We've got a bunch of great donations for a silent auction (petzl grigri & racking biners, fixe rope, a bag from Runout Customs, laspo shoes, a sweet handmade adirondack chair made by a local climber/carpenter, a night stay in a San Juan Hut, etc etc) 

We're also going to premiere a new climbing film from Madeliene Sorkin, who will be there!!! (She's on the SAR team)
Trail Life Brewing is giving away some beer coupons for attendees for an after party, but we're trying to make the event family friendly so bring your little crushers!!

There's going to be some limited edition "Friends of the Black Canyon SAR" T shirts for sale!!

Finally, for you Front Rangers, I think there is an event in Boulder in the works that will be later in the summer. Stay tuned!

There's been some rad developments for this fundraiser!

-After many requests we have figured out how to make the silent auction online!! The auction goes live on Wednesday (tomorrow) at 6pm MST on this website so check it out! friendsbcsar.betterworld.or…  

-The local pizza joint, Pablo's, is dedicating their Pizza of the Week to this fundraiser!! The working title for their tribute pizza is "Prisoner of Your Hairdo" after everyone's favorite Black Canyon gully slog ;)
