Heyya! Toying with the idea of moving to Vegas for the winter. Is the climbing community still pretty active during the winter? Safe areas to live in town? Looking for an active climbing community!

Yes and yes. If you're thinking about it.. just go for it ! It's also close to all of the climbing you could ever want in CA, AZ, NM, UT, and North NV ! If you want more info shoot me a message.

They’ve started a cloud seeding project to make it rain more. Red rock is permanently wet, aka unclimbable and dangerous. Don’t move here. Terrible idea. And with the Raiders moving here, no part of town is safe anymore.

My limited knowledge of LV says don't live east of the I-15 or in North Las Vegas.

Year round climbing in Vegas is great but winter is best with it being mostly T-shirt weather. Stay away from living by The Strip, Downtown, and North Las Vegas. Look around Blue Diamond and Mountain Springs for the best outdoor/climbing ambiance community if you're not tied to living in the big city. And bring your mt bike for the excellent trails! Pahrump is also a comparable drive to Red Rocks and Mt Potosi as from Henderson or the east side of Vegas and worth considering.

I am thinking of spending some months in Vegas as well. If you are interested in sharing an AirBnB and climb together let me know

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
