Perhaps in number of pieces this is true for me, but definitely not in dollar amounts. When I was a gumby, a #6 at [redacted Wingate] and someone else rightfully bootied it before I returned the next week. I've been clawing my way out of debt ever since.

OP, you'll booty a nut soon enough to recoup your loss. Hopefully you guys fixed the piece by taking a righteous try-hard whip!

Always a sad day when you can’t bust that nut 

I once found a dropped Gri Gri underneath Open Book at Tahquitz, so I got a pretty good starting point there. 

I found 3x .75 C4’s in one summer.

I got a clearly not stuck and definitely forgotten upward facing green totem off the El Cap East Buttress at a very very awkward anchor stance with shit gear options.

I’ve collected at least 3-4 sets of stoppers.

A few ATC’s, many lockers, and literally dozens and dozens of non lockers.

Enough that I chained them together in pairs and could play jump rope.

I started bringing them to Desert Rock Sports for consignment.

Alternately, my partner made it rain (about $400+) off of Zodiac during our ascent. Two totems and numerous carabiners, slings, rivet hangers, brass and more.

Definitely win some and lose some, but I’m undoubtedly positive overall. Lol

Pardon my frugality here, folks. Win some lose some for sure, but in my humble opinion, nothing wrong with trying to boost those margins. Best of luck to the busters, whoever they may be!

hi Ian. You’re clearly a bit of a rookie, so I’m glad that there are all these pros on here to tell you how things work outside of the gym. Finders keepers. If you wanted the nut you shouldn’t have left it up there. Try harder next time.
