I'm finding conflicting reports on the status of Buttermilk Rd up to McGree Creek for parking for East Arete Humphrerys. Anyone been up there?

I was last year.  There was a point where my truck was on 3 tires due to huge washouts.  I imagine it’s worst this year.

I do know a couple guys who skied Basin Couloir earlier this summer and they made it out to the trailhead.  Only beta I got from them was go with another truck.  They drive big, lifted jeeps.  Hope that helps!

It does. I don’t have a great 4wd so I’ll find something else. Love the scenery and geology on the descent!

I went out to Horton Lakes last month in a mostly stock tacoma. The road was rough but passable with 2wd and decent clearance up to that turnoff. I am guessing the crux would be the McGee creek crossing.

Let me know if you make it out that way, I am hoping to head out to Humphreys next month.
