dirtbagging joshua tree

i’m thinking about dirtbagging around jtree in a few weeks does anyone have any tips on free camping and stuff or wants to partner up text me 6786022534

There’s a lot of blm land adjacent to the park for free camping. Personal favorite is BLM South, which is a stone’s throw of the cottonwood entrance. Bring water and pack out your trash (no bathrooms either).

The cottonwood entrance is a ways from any climbing. The BLM northeast of downtown Joshua Tree is a better bet. It’s a lakebed with no outlet so don’t poop there do it in town or in the park.

I think so.

$10 / night for 90% tweaker reduction is a decent payoff, but I have a job, so I'm biased

Absolutely. It’s something like 50 miles round trip from lakebed to hidden valley and back. Not just money but time saved, and camping in hidden valley can be a really fun experience.
