Electric Tooth Brush, your weight in beer?

What’s your favorite item to bring on Bigwalls that most weight weenies would scoff at.

I’m pretty boring, handle of whiskey, ghetto blaster and a pair of clean socks for the hike down.

  • Color changing lightweight camp lantern
  • Synth insulated booties and separate pair of nighttime socks
  • Blow up pillow
  • Various pride flags
  • Bigwall plushie
  • Walkie talkies
  • (for winter) Toe Warmer packets

And my new things I'm super excited about:

  • Battery powered color changing led fairylights to string up on my portaledge at night
  • I just got a pair of usb-c rechargeable heated socks that I'm excited to see if they can hold up to the abuse of bigwall

While I'm not sure these count as guilty, these down socks are pretty luxurious.  I doubt Warren Harding had a pair.

Down Socks (Goose Feet Gear)

Paired with a good hat, they significantly boost your warmth at night, potentially allowing you to get away with a lighter sleeping bag.  They now live permanently in the bottom of my sleeping bag.

According to those who climbed with him, Warren never even took his boots off once he was on the wall.

Dear Penthouse Forum,

I never thought these stories were real until an experience I had on Chickenhead Ledge on El Capitan.   It all started when…………..

Climbed with one partner, and we used VOX headset radios. After we got done, we had someone who was nearby say they were amazed that we appeared to be Psychic linked as they never heard us speak or yell commands! (If the only realized, it was not magic!)

Solo Climbs - Cassette walkman, lots of batteries and tapes.

Mini deck of cards, Travel chess and checkers, Hanging stove. This was back before IPADS, Cell phones, Jet Boil.  Man, I don't know how we survived!

Never had Yellow! Brown was favorite. Did have various brands in Silver, White, Red and Blue. Buy cheap, if it breaks toss and get new one.

Now I would take my Ipod! smaller, holds more music than I can carry and rechargeable.

Boombox was cool, but man 8 "D" cells? a lot of weight, plus you would risk offending someone else!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
