Old fit guy looking for motivated outdoor climbing partner

62 years young. Lead 10d sport, 10b trad, and C2+ big walls.  Follow up to 11b. Lead climb in the local gym after work 2x per week, outside lead at least 1x per week. Trail run for cardio fitness. Off most Fridays and every weekend. Flexible schedule for trips.

Climbing grades don't matter much to me. Enjoy easy long climbs as well as getting out of my comfort zone. Easy going. Looking for someone who enjoys the outdoor experience and is motivated to climb outside. Beginner, seasoned dirtbag, or somewhere in between works for me.

I enjoy climbing at local areas: Malibu Creek, Echo, Jtree, Tahquitz. Trips to Owens Gorge, Pine Creek, Red Rocks, Tuolumne, Yosemite, Shuteye, Sierra backcountry peaks, and many other eastern and western Sierra locations.

Previous regular partners have either left climbing or unmotivated to venture outdoors.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Hey Paul, long time no see!

I live in Oakdale now, and hang out in Tuolumne and the Valley. Let me know if you ever head this way. You’re climbing harder than me right now, but I’m down for adventure.

Also working on my aid/wall game…so down for goofing around on some walls.

Lmk! Shane

Hey Paul,

I’m also looking for partners and looking to climb same areas and similar grades. Busy for the next couple of weekends but looking to climb most weekends going forward. Hoping to do a lot of weekend trips to J-tree this season.

Hey Paul let me know if you’re still looking. Seems we like the same areas and types of climbing. Free most weekends for anything. TR, trad, sport, aid.

Hey Paul. Erik here, my friends call me Squirrel. I am recovering from surgery for next couple weeks but I would love to go climbing with you. I am not a beginner but my climbing ability has never gotten above 5.10. Been climbing for a few years but been out of practice during covid. Really excited to get back into the swing of things. Practice in the gym is okay, but i really yearn for outdoor climbing. Day trips or overnight okay. I also have alternate Fridays off work so that could be a bonus. Last I climbed I had just scratched the surface of multipitch sport. I would also love to get into trad. A good friend of mine is/was a guide and he started showing me how to lace gear. I have not yet followed on route. Hit me up if yer interested to meet up. Thanks!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
